About Us: Sri Prasanna Venkateswara Swamy Temple
Appalayagunta Temple is the abode of Sri Prasanna Venkateswara Swamy. The temple is located at a distance of 16KM from the Tirupati city, Andhrapradesh, India. Lord Sri Prasanna Venkateswara Swamy, the presiding deity of the temple is in Abhaya Hastha Pose(Blessing Hand). It is believed that the Lord blessed Sri Siddeswara and Sages in the holy place after his marriage with Goddess Sri Padmavathi. The other shrines in the main temple are Sri Andal Temple, Sri Padmavathi Ammavari(Amman) Temple and Sri Prasanna Anjaneya Swamy Temple. The temple was constructed by Raja's of KarvetiNagar consists of a shrine of Sri Anjaneya Swamy. This temple was taken over by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams(TTD) in the year 1988. Thereafter, the temple is under the control of TTD.
