It has the tale of Matsya Avatara Vishnu, the body of Lord Venkateswara and the head in the form of Lingam (Lord Shiva). The moola viraat itself represents the Advaita Philosophy of Hinduism and the unity and integrity of Shaivism and the Vaishnavism. Due to this the temple is also known as Harihara Kshetram.
